Collaboration with Industries

•  The IC development and industrial pilot line cooperates with China Electronic Communication Information Group Corporation (CEC) to establish Microelectronic Engineering Center in Dec, 2004. Through combining industry with products, the center will active for in greeting new life into the pilot time and conduct research according to the important developing direction in the field of special Silicon IC 、 SiGe microwave HBT device and microwave IC chip 、 semiconductor nonvolatile memory. Besides, the relevant technology and products will be produced by batch. The center will become a base for developing and producing microwave IC and special IC. It is a training have for educating technical talents as well.

•  IMETU began to run all kinds of IC technological training classes in 2001 and train the technical backbone for many corporations such as Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation , Shougang Institute of Technology etc. IMETU has also held a lot of training class for EDA tools by utilizing existing EDA platform. The training includes Verification with VCS and Chip synthesis with DC, which get a very good result.

•  Double-degree Classes was started from 2001. The number of students who had graduated from this class and who are studying here have amounted more than 200.

•  “Base for cultivating talents of IC” was initiated by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology. In order to meet the urgent need of professionals in IC Industry , after the approval of Graduate School of Tsinghua University, the Institute of Microelectronics of Tsinghua University and Graduate School of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen cooperate to enroll master by coursework in the field of “IC design and electronics communication ” since 2004.

•  Actively participated in the construction work of “Microelectronics Research and Development Center of Shanghai”. Relevant sides of Shanghai are going to offer free lands for Tsinghua University and Peking University to build “Microelectronics Research and Development Center”, so as to contribute to the development of Shanghai's IC industry economic circle and its surrounding areas.
